I use to be on the team that's like, "Let kids bring phones into the classroom! We'll use them for learning!"
The problem, and the reason I've changed my stance, is simply that the attention economy makes this nearly impossible.
It's a losing battle for kids & their brain.

I’m probably gonna die on this boring hill but: we need media literacy to be taught in K-12 and beyond. It needs to be part of how you learn to read and write at this point, how you consume, research, and communicate information. The stakes are too high to wait
Dear Education,
If we want tests to be true indicators of how a student will do in the real world, make them open book.
I care more about if you can find & apply info than if you can memorize it.
Sincerely,
An adult in the real world who googles info when she doesn’t know
She is finally big enough for the backpack carrier. A special gift from a parent that will be put to good use and cherished. Looking forward to many hikes sharing my passions with Emrsyn #fullcircle#happyplace#happymomma#sothankful
Great minds don’t think alike. They challenge each other to think differently.
The people who teach you the most are the ones who share your principles but not your thought processes.
Converging values draw you to similar questions. Diverging views introduce you to new answers.

Things that Schools should teach: 🧠
• Being wrong is not a bad thing.
• It's Okay to question what you have been taught.
• Grades aren't as valuable as skills.
• Understanding is more important than memorization.
• Making mistakes is Okay. Learn from your mistakes.
SCIENCE:
If you don't make mistakes, you're doing it wrong.
If you don't correct those mistakes, you're doing it really wrong.
If you can't accept that you're mistaken, you're not doing it at all.
