Bakit bawal na ba mag-turn down ng applicant ang isang company? 😭
As applicants, dapat marunong din siguro tayong mag-comprehend ng job posting na ina-applyan natin, diba? If they clearly stated "Fresh Graduate" of course entry level lang hanap wala naman akong nakikitang "or anyone with xx+ years of experience" in their post.. 😅
Companies turn down applicants all the time kapag hindi pasok sa requirements or even sa budget. Normal naman yun. Hindi naman automatically ibig sabihin na dinodownplay nila yung applicant or yung experience niya.
Kung ang hanap talaga is a fresh graduate, most likely the salary range is also intended for an entry-level position. So if you have 10+ years of experience, bakit ka mag-aapply knowing that? 😭 Unless you're willing to take that risk and accept whatever offer they have-which is also totally fine. Pero may tinatawag din na "overqualified applicant", and that's actually a normal thing in recruitment. It doesn't necessarily mean they're looking down on your experience; sometimes, your qualifications simply don't match what the role or budget is designed for.
And as an interviewer, honestly, ang hirap din mag-turn down ng applicant, especially kapag nasa kanya na lahat ng qualities and skills na hinahanap mo. Pero at the end of the day, if the company's approved budget doesn't match the applicant's expected salary, wala ka rin talagang magagawa. 🤷♀️
Bakit kapag sinabi mong nasa IT/Web Development ka, parang next question is ALWAYS:
"Marunong kayo mag-hack?" 😭🤣
Hindi po kami automatic hacker just because marunong kami mag-code.
Pero sige, saan niyo gusto ipa-reset password niyo? 😂
Sometimes when I do job interviews, aside from asking about their skills and experience related to the position, I also ask some "personal" questions. Not really to be invasive, but more to get a sense of their character, attitude, and how they approach certain situations.
For me kasi, we don't hire someone just because of their skills. Character and attitude matter just as much, siguro 50/50 din.
Yung skills kasi, kahit minimum lang yung alam mo at the start, if you're willing to learn and you have the right attitude, I'd probably still consider hiring you. Skills can be taught and developed, but attitude and character are much harder to teach.
Especially when you're working in a hybrid setup, trust and integrity are really important. Maraming capable people, but if the attitude and character aren't right, sometimes mahirap din mag-build ng trust or expect that person to stay committed long-term. Of course, case-to-case basis pa rin naman.
And honestly, I'd say we've been pretty fortunate with the people we've hired so far. We've had employees who are not only really capable at what they do, but also have the right attitude and character and some of them have been with us for years. For me, that's a good sign that hiring for both skills and character really matters.
Local job interview ko parang beauty pageant
"Paano mo ihahandle kapag sinigawan ka kasi may kailangan ipasa, pero wala kang ginawang mali?"
While international interview ko
"Saw your credentials. This is what we do, are you familiar? What is your expected salary?"
