The Great Stone of Fourstones, near Bentham, England. A large stone with carved steps that stands out in moorland. I like the story that it was thrown over the Irish Sea by a giant. One less exciting alternative is that it is a glacial deposit.

Alignements de Kerzerho, Erdeven, Brittany, France. Impressive and expansive, this is an accessible site without the wire fences seen elsewhere in the locality.

Cross of Grete, Bowland Fells, England.
Amazing views from here over the rural landscape. This stone is at a high point on Lythe Fell Road. The shallow rectangular inset is interesting.

Swinside Stone Circle in south-west Cumbria, England. A really good stone circle next to a bridleway. There is no nearby parking, but it's a great area for walking.

Three Kings, Northumberland, England. Photos from back in the summer. Much logging work had taken place. Within walking distance is the amazing waterfall at Hindhope Linn.

Minninglow Hill, Peak District, England. The site is surrounded by a stone wall perimeter, the trees provide height and shelter to the location. Easily accesible by foot from the Minninglow parking on the High Peak Trail.
