🎉 Huge congratulations to Roma High School Class of 2026 Senior Emma Escobar!
This evening in Washington, DC, at the NASSP National Education Leadership Awards, Emma was named a winner of the National Honor Society National Pillar Award for Service!
Out of more than 17,000 entries nationwide, Emma made school history as the first RHS student ever selected as one of only 25 national finalists for the program. As a finalist she earned a $5,600 scholarship, and tonight she received an additional $5,000 scholarship as a National Pillar Award winner!
Emma’s outstanding commitment to serving her community, including logging over 500 hours tutoring students of all ages in music and helping her peers academically truly set her apart.
The Gladiator Nation is incredibly proud of you Emma! Thank you for shining so brightly and representing Roma High School on the national stage, and making school history once again! We can’t wait to see all the great things you’ll continue to accomplish!

This man transports you to another galaxy with his guitar...
One of the best guitar solos ever. Love to see younger people appreciate that.
🎸🔥 Three chords. One monster voice. Zero mercy on the soul.
This dreadlocked legend is absolutely owning “What’s Up?” live — that raw, soaring delivery, the hypnotic guitar loop building the groove, and the whole band locked in tight. Pure 90s magic reborn in the rawest, funkiest way possible.
Thanks to the Roma High School Band for inviting Emma to sing with them at their Pre-UIL performance today! It’s very special when student musicians from different groups can perform together!
Happy 18th birthday to our brilliant, talented, beautiful, kind, resilient daughter, Emma Grace! She has been nothing but a blessing in our lives for every second we have been fortunate enough to be her parents. She has met and exceeded our every expectation.
TIL: There’s a dude in Rockwall, who has been serving burgers in his front yard since the 60s due to a weird loophole in Rockwall County zoning laws lol we love to see it
