@BackyardLarder When I was last reading this stuff, there was a strange gap in the research, where PA content would be well established in a genus, but there was no information about their presence or absence in popularly consumed species (I think Ligularia fischeri was one such instance).
@BackyardLarder I’m not entirely sure what to make of PA content by itself, even where the PAs are known to be toxic (e.g., those in Orchidaceae aren't), as I seem to remember some plants with them in still seem to be associated with health benefits.
@BackyardLarder It’s been a while since I looked into it, but at that point I think they’d been shown to be present in the raw herb, but there wasn’t much about the profile or amount. Checking now, it seems there is this: https://t.co/1lqfI4vUjl (not one I’ve read though).
@IncredibleVeg Will you be selling these Mandy? Or are you open to a trade - I think you expressed an interest in Big-leaved Aster (Eurybia macrophylla)?
@BackyardLarder I'd forgotten about that, but it was the Arthrocnemum glaucum that I had in mind this time - although I'm not 100% sure it will be hardy over here.
Not the most attractive of the Asters, but Sea Aster (in this case, the variety lacking ray-flowers, known as Tripolium pannonicum var. discoides) has to be one of the tastiest.
