@dalehancock Exactly. There is a big difference between collecting targeted information to guide decisions for a specific students, and overkill documentation that is mostly driven by the chance that the student might someday be referred for Special Education.
When I am asked how I get my students to LOVE to read, I tell them three things:
1. Every finished novel is celebrated!
2. No reading logs!
3. So much choice!
