@FenwayLawnCare He looked at the runner and took his eyes off the ball before he fielded it which caused him to miss it. Also he wasn’t quick to pick up the ball after he missed it which allowed the runner to take an extra base and reach second.

@FenwayLawnCare The outfielder pretends to get behind the ball (even though he knows he’s not going to catch it) to make the runner stay at second base instead of letting him advancing to third.
@FenwayLawnCare He took his time and got his foot work correct, which helped him be in the right position to make that throw instead of trying to rush it to get the ball back into the infield.
