The aluminum tariffs accomplished nothing positive. Even the planned Century smelter in Oklahoma (doubling U.S. output) is expected to produce only 1000 permanent jobs, a fraction of what has likely been lost / failed to emerge in downstream manufacturing as a result of higher input costs.

We are less competitive, less secure (more dependent on further flung nations), and dirtier. Total disaster.
