If someone breaks into your house tomorrow and changes the locks, you'd think one phone call fixes it.

In California, it doesn't.

Once a person has been inside long enough, law enforcement will tell you it's a civil matter. That means court. That means months. And it means you keep paying the mortgage, the property taxes and the insurance on a home you are not allowed to walk into.

The person who broke in gets a process. The person who bought the house gets a legal bill.

I don't care how rare you think this is. A state that makes it this hard for a homeowner to get their own front door back has its priorities upside down.

Sacramento could fix this without much effort. A fast track for owners who can produce the deed. Real penalties for forged leases. Clear authority for deputies to act at the door instead of handing people a pamphlet about civil court.

Whether this ever happens to you or not, we shouldn't be a state where the burden of proof falls on the person who owns the place.

California officials refused to honor a detainer that ICE placed against Juan Manuel Saravia, a TWICE-CONVICTED BURGLAR.

Instead of holding the Salvadoran criminal illegal alien for ICE, Santa Monica police released him back into the community. So, ICE LA officers targeted him for arrest to protect Americans and to follow through on his final order of removal.

The officers located Saravia in a public area near Avenida Mazatlan in Santa Monica, July 23. Our officers were wearing clearly marked body armor and approached him. He immediately fled, but the chase was brief. Although he resisted, the officers were able to apprehend him without incident.

He’ll remain in ICE custody pending his removal flight to El Salvador.

Since politicians are now claiming their roles in the hunt for Osama bin Laden, it’s worth remembering what recognition actually looked like for those who were directly involved in the successful operation.

This belongs to @BentonDave28405, who played a direct role in the ground-level tracking and locating of the courier that ultimately led to the mission’s success. If you saw my CIA black ops coin I shared previously, that’s what the green and black represent on the back.

We have a country full of damn heroes, and we should never forget it. It was politicians who tied our hands in the war on terror, limiting those who were willing to fight and sacrifice to keep this nation safe. We have not forgotten. We remember the choices that were made, and we remember who stood with us and who failed us. The fight is long from over.
