Asking someone which is his favorite book is like asking a gourmand wich meal is his. Or a junkie wich was his favorite dose of meth. Not the favorite type of food/meth, but the favorite instance.
I rarely enjoy articles about fantasy books. They usually just follow an agenda or recommend "similar" books which have nothing in common other than being fantasy. But this was well written: https://t.co/KcEJwaUahc
I don't feel like writing today. So I sat down at my desk and I wrote. What does what I "feel" has to do with what I have to do? #WritingCommunity#Writingtips
Take a moment (good or bad) from your life. Remember how it felt. Now make your character live it and describe his feelings and thoughts. A lot of readers will relate because is more real than pulling a #Matrix move. #WritingCommunity#writingtips
Explore subplots to add depth and complexity to your story's world. Every character can have their moment. Just take advantage of the choices you need them to do for your plot and add a little self contained scene for that. #WritingTips#WritingCommunity
@garethlpowell Interesting translation. In French the title is closer to "In Searching of the Lost Time". May I also recommend The Magus , by J. Fowles?
Writing is like agriculture. You take a certain type of plant, you strip the land, level it, kill anything that could consume resources (weeds, mice, etc) and then you have a harvest. It not really "Natural". Same with the characters. They are not supposed to behave "naturally"
