Zelcore Transition to 24-Word Seed Phrase Authentication

Flux has always been committed to the core values of decentralization, security, and user sovereignty. As part of our ongoing mission to uphold these principles, we are announcing the official deprecation of traditional username and password logins across Flux services in favor of 24-word seed phrase authentication.

Why the Change?
The username/password model (Brain Wallets), while familiar, is inherently prone to a range of security vulnerabilities and breaches from user setup, such as:
-Users often reuse or create weak passwords, which puts their accounts at risk
-Not strong enough user and password selected
-Reuse of user names and passwords that have been breached on other websites
-Password recovery mechanisms rely on trusted third parties, which is a central point of failure.

24-word seed phrases are:
-Self-custodial: You, and only you, control access to your account.
-Decentralized: No central authority can reset or access your account.
-Secure: The cryptographic strength of seed phrases significantly surpasses traditional passwords.

What This Means for You

Over the coming weeks, users will be required to migrate their access credentials from username/password combinations to 24-word seed phrases. This process is straightforward, and detailed guidance will be provided through our official support channels and community platforms.
We encourage all users to:

-Begin backing up and securing your seed phrase.
-Familiarize yourself with best practices around seed phrase storage (e.g., offline backups, never share it with anyone).
-Prepare for the full sunset of password-based authentication.

As we continue to build the next generation of decentralized cloud and Web3 infrastructure, it’s crucial we remain aligned with these principles at every layer — including how users access the network.

Timeline & Support–

Migration Period: Starting 08-01-2025, ending 01-01-2026
Final Deprecation of Username/Password: 01-15-2026
