Very proud to stand with our Jewish friends and colleagues at the Jewish Solidarity event at the @Uni_of_Essex. Anti-semitism is one of the ugliest forms of racism, and Essex Labour Students will always do everything we can to stamp out racism both in our Party, and on campus.
Our priority campaign is on the refugee crisis & this Xmas we’re asking you to get in touch with your local cllrs. Find out what provisions are in place & ask them to do more!
Below is a sample letter that you can use & get in touch if you have any Qs 👇

Thank you to the 500 allies for showing your support for Jewish students at @Uni_of_Essex@EssexSU. The overwhelming show of support is heartening in times of rising antisemitism.
@martinxo@AmnestyUK We already knew this. That's why we joined with the Tories, Lib Dems, UKIP, and Human Rights (an Amnesty breakaway) to counteract this.
@RamseyFrank@martinxo And if you look through my personal Twitter feed you will see plenty of posts that I have either made or retweeted decrying the actions of the current Israeli government in Palestine and Gaza, none of which could be found in violation of the IHRA.
Anti-semitism isn't treated as a real issue, transphobia is normalised, and the Tories are getting away with murder.
These issues aren't exclusive to the left or the right of the Labour Party.
How do we solve these issues?
We don't leave the Labour Party.
We stay, and we fight.
@martinxo I mean, we are full time University students dealing with a very sensitive, Students Union wide issue, so things will slip under the radar. I will push for a more robust system for moderating our comments from now on when I next meet with the Society Executive.
@willquince@Uni_of_Essex@JewishChron@EssexSU @Forster_Anthony Labour on campus joined with the Tories, Lib Dems, and Human Rights societies to encourage people to vote in favour of ratifying the Jewish Society. A lot of us are really appalled by the behaviour of some SU members on this issue.
