#FreeSchoolMeals On the left £30 of food. On the right what private company Chartwells have supplied having been awarded a government contract to supply for £30 free school meals.
Utterly shameful profiteering off some of the country's most disadvantaged kids!
Absolutely disgusting 🤢 but can't say I'm surprised that the tory's are lining their own pockets, rather than using existing companies that actually have the knowledge & supply chain...
Today a primary school headteacher in my constituency shared the letter she’d sent to her MP about Free School Meals. It’s really powerful so I’m sharing an anonymised version with her permission. Heartbreaking and inspiring. Keep going @MarcusRashford, this matters.
especially as the majority of these children will be from WORKING families. I cant imagine how difficult it must be to look after your family on a low wage to begin with, but factor in furlough 80% and redundancies. And there's more families than ever who need and deserve support
Tory MP's voting against feeding school kids, whilst accepting their pay rises, free meals and claiming expenses for anything they can, is exactly what's wrong with this country! Regardless of circumstances, no child should ever have to go hungry.
Some of you on here are saying that poor children shouldn’t be given a food voucher that will stop them from going hungry. Think about that for a second.
lies after lies from the Tory's... unsurprising for many of us, but still completely baffling how anyone can consider them to have managed this crisis well in the slightest...
wish people would realise that no one is furloughed through choice 😡 I would have happily worked for the last 2 months, especially if it meant having a secure job. Some industries have been hit so hard and its bloody worrying! Definitely not a holiday 🙃
I've read tweets saying people are "flouting the furlough scheme" by being "in parks, at beach or treating it as a holiday".
If an EMPLOYER chooses to furlough staff, it literally currently means they CAN'T WORK for them. Are we saying people should just cocoon in misery & wait?
NO ONE will be on this bus out of choice, framing this as an individual decision is disgusting and an attack on the working classes. Being able to work from home is a privilege!!
Buses in London are packed with passengers this morning, despite the govt asking people to avoid public transport if possible when the #coronavirus lockdown eased.
