Putin is in trouble. This is precisely the wrong moment to offer him a way out.
Keep calm and stay the course. Our strategy is working.
To those concerned about the risks posed by a losing aggressor, remember: aggression succeeding would be far more dangerous.
The last thing Europe should do is self-deter.
We’ve been successful in the European Union in increasing pressure on Russia and supporting Ukraine.
We can see the results: Russia is growing weaker, while Ukraine remains strong and resilient.
We must continue on the path that has proven both right and effective, for the security of Ukraine and Europe.
Time flies faster than we wish ✨ Thank you to Ambassador Jonas Grinevičius and the Embassy of Lithuania for a warm Farewell Garden Party with dear colleagues from Latvia, Denmark & Sweden. Grateful to all friends and partners who made it special 💙🎂
🎬 Yesterday we attended the screening of Reel to Revolution at Lough Gur, Limerick. Huge thanks to everyone who made the evening unforgettable — filmmakers, musicians, storytellers, guests & supporters. A celebration of culture, music & friendship connecting Ireland and Estonia.
Despite Russia’s threats, Estonian diplomats are not leaving Kyiv.
Threatening diplomats, foreigners, and civilians is unacceptable and a blatant violation of the UN Charter. Russia’s attempts at intimidation only expose its true face.
Estonia will not bow to threats. Our embassy remains open, our diplomats stay in Kyiv, and we continue to stand firmly with Ukraine.
We also conveyed this message yesterday to the representative of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn.
Moscow’s desperate overnight attempt to break Ukraine’s will changes nothing: Russia is losing this war. By once again deliberately targeting civilians, it merely added further war crimes to the list for which it will, sooner or later, be held accountable.
We will work to ensure that every commander involved in these crimes — from those giving the orders to those pressing the buttons — will one day have a file waiting for them in The Hague.
Russia has been portraying the EU and Ukraine’s leadership as “warmongers” unwilling to end the war. This is, of course, an outright lie.
In reality, it is the Kremlin that has rejected at least seven peace proposals in 2025 alone.
The increasingly erratic threats coming from Moscow these days are a sign of fear and desperation — and proof that our policy is working.
Europe must stay calm, united, and continue supporting Ukraine.
Concluded the second day of #LennartMeriConference with a productive discussion with @TR_Bremen on strengthening Europe’s security architecture, Germany’s contribution to reinforcing NATO’s eastern flank and increasing the cost of Russia’s war of aggression, and ensuring sustained support for Ukraine.
Europe’s security is inseparable from the EU’s enlargement principle. This is why we must advance accession talks with all candidate states, including Ukraine. Our collective security and prosperity depend on it.
Today is a momentous day for accountability. 36 countries, including Estonia, and the European Union have formally backed the @coe Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
Our message is clear: Russia’s atrocities will be documented, prosecuted, and judged. No perpetrator will escape justice.
We will not allow the aggressor to rewrite the foundations of the international order. Impunity ends here.
Today we welcomed more than 100 Estonians 🇪🇪 working in the EU and other international organisations to our annual briefing and networking day in Tallinn.
The contribution of Estonian professionals abroad strengthens our voice, advances our values, and ensures that Estonia’s priorities are heard globally. Their work is essential to our security, prosperity, and international standing.
Thank you for your dedication and the important work you do every day.
If one still needed a signal that Russia has not abandoned its goals, here is the signal.
Drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles launched at Kyiv once again prove that Putin wants to continue the war and destroy Ukraine.
To make this stop, our current strategy must continue: sustained support for Ukraine and increased pressure on Russia. Strengthening Ukraine’s position and making Russia understand that its strategy will fail is the only path to a real and lasting peace.

For each of us, the word “Mother” carries something deeply personal. It means warmth, care, strength, and the feeling of home we always long to return to. And no matter how old we are, a mother’s love remains a source of support and faith.
Russia’s war has changed the lives of millions of Ukrainian families, but it has not broken the strength and resilience of Ukrainian mothers. They wait for their children, pray for them, support and protect them, believe in their sons and daughters against all odds, and do everything possible to ensure their children have a happy childhood and a decent future.
Today, I just want to thank every Ukrainian Mother for a love without limits, for patience, strength, and for hearts that always make room for hope.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Today we celebrate Europe Day across all of Estonia, including beautiful Narva on the border of @NATO and the European Union.
Celebrating unity, freedom, and the strength of Europe together.
🇪🇪🇪🇺
Rights and values do not defend themselves. In the skies, at sea, online. The EU is out there every day, far from the headlines but close to the people who need it most.
Happy Europe Day. 🇪🇺
Happy Europe Day 🇪🇺
Europe is freedom - to move, to learn, to build a future without borders.
Estonia has grown with Europe and helped shape it, from digital innovation to standing firm for Ukraine.
Because Europe stands for something worth protecting: freedom, security, and the right to choose our own future.
