One of my favorite subtle moments: when Aang races the other airbending kids, Gyatso deliberately jumps on his back to slow him down & let the other kids win. He makes sure they don’t come to resent him for being so much stronger, which sadly ends up happening later in the series

Hot take:

If you are upset with getting a new avatar series that expands on the lore you’re a fake fan.

This looks great. Would love if it was being animated on 1s, but that’s the cost of drawn animations.

If you want a series that constantly rehashes the same old story go watch Star Wars
