The Estes Valley Fire Protection District board voted unanimously to start the process of hiring Kevin Nunn as its new fire chief. Nunn has been the fire chief of Utah’s North Tooele Fire District. The board said all three candidates presented well, board chair Sandi Smith said. Board members identified that Nunn has a background in strategic planning. Board member Ryan Leahy, who has been a firefighter in the district, said the district has a lot of experience hiring a chief and hopes we can now have experience keeping one.
