The Estevan Police Service recently concluded an investigation into a break and enter, theft and trafficking of drugs and firearms. Details are available in the attachments and on EPS social media.
EPS would like to congratulate Cst. Hayley Bunjevac (2nd from left) and Cst. Jonathan Nixon (center) on their graduation from the Saskatchewan Police College! Their field training in Estevan begins soon as they join the EPS Patrol Division. Welcome home and good luck!
Each year, Community Safety Net partners with EPS to raise awareness and financial support from local businesses to create and distribute safety resources for children. Thanks to the organizations listed for their generous contributions that help protect children and save lives!
EPS is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Constable, Katie Eastman, who will start in July, 2026. Cst. Eastman will attend the Saskatchewan Police College from July to December and return home to begin field training after graduation. Welcome aboard and good luck!
This week, we proudly join communities across Canada in recognizing National Police Week, May 10–16, 2026. EPS extends sincere thanks to the officers and staff whose dedication and efforts help make our shared vision — “Together, a Stronger and Safer Community” — a reality.
Don’t just stand by—step up. 👀📞 If someone you know is planning to drive while impaired:
✔️ Grab their keys
✔️ Call a local taxi for them
✔️ Provide a place to sleep
✔️ Be the hero who prevents a crash

If you're heading out for a night of fun, leave your car keys at home. If the car isn't with you, there’s zero temptation to drive it back. Use a local shuttle or taxi service to get to and from your destination.
Leave the keys, take the cab.
#DidYouKnow that if you are involved in a collision while impaired, your insurance coverage may be void? This means you could be personally responsible for thousands of dollars in property damage and medical costs.
Protect your future and your finances. Drive sober.
April 12-18th is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week! 📞 Big thanks to Sp. Csts Carla Dayman, Michelle Hall, Brienne Malmgren, Shari Sutter and Katia Bigney (photo unavailable) for all that you do to keep the community and our officers safe! You are appreciated! 🚨
As we head into the middle of April, our school zones are busier than ever with students enjoying the spring weather. Please remember that school zone speed limits are in effect. Reducing your speed to 30 km/h gives you more time to react if a child steps into the street.
#DidYouKnow that under Canadian law, our officers can demand a roadside breath sample from any driver we lawfully stop? We don’t need a reason to suspect you’ve been drinking to make this request. It’s a quick process designed to keep impaired drivers off Estevan streets.
As we wrap up our focus on speeding this month, we want to thank the vast majority of Estevan drivers who respect the limits and keep our community safe. Your choices behind the wheel matter every single day.
Join EPS staff and local banking representatives to learn about how to protect yourself from frauds and scams. Refer to the attached poster for venue location and time. See you there!
Reducing your speed by just 10 km/h can be the difference between a close call and a serious collision. It gives you more time to find an alternative course of action when the unexpected happens. Give yourself the gift of time.
We see you working hard, and we want to make sure you get home safe. In SK, you must slow to 60 km/h when passing emergency vehicles, tow trucks, or highway workers with flashing lights. Let’s work together to make sure everyone gets home to their families tonight.
Looks like both A.I. and WPS Chief VanDeSype agree that the Estevan Bruins will be hoisting the Highway 39 Cup this year... Go Bruins! (Thanks for your support Chief!)
Your reaction time matters. At 80 km/h, the chance of a fatal collision is 50% higher than at lower speeds. Giving yourself even 10 km/h of leeway can be the difference between a close call and a tragedy. Let’s keep Estevan streets safe by slowing down.
Estevan is at its best when everyone takes a little extra care on the roads this winter. Drive at a comfortable speed, stay aware, and look out for one another. Small choices help keep our community safe.
#EstevanPoliceService#WinterDriving#CommunitySafety
We encourage all residents to stay alert in their neighborhoods. Report suspicious activity, watch for pedestrians, and follow local traffic rules. Every small action contributes to a safer Estevan for all.
#EstevanPoliceService#NeighborhoodSafety#CommunityCare
We appreciate everyone in Estevan who helps make our streets safe. Looking out for neighbors, walking carefully, and driving responsibly all make a difference. Together, we can keep our community safe and welcoming. Let’s continue supporting each other every day.
