Itโs time for some personal news ๐ค ๐๏ธ โฆ
As some of you know, I spent the last year working as a temporary producer for @StoryCorps. Iโm excited to announce that Iโll be filling that role permanently.
My job is to find and help tell vulnerable and compelling stories, but those stories are always about other people.
I'm almost never the subject of my own work.
Enjoy this deeply personal essay, 100 Days of Darkness, published by Switchyard magazine.

Reporter @estherhonig on refugees who find themselves in some of the most dangerous jobs in America. These two stories on meatpacking started at @ucbsoj in the 11th-Hour Food & Farming Journalism Fellowship in 2021. (Worth the wait!) Listen @99piorg https://t.co/oPX7l6cNPI

This is my favorite @StoryCorps piece that I've produced thus far.
It's heartfelt, it's chilling and while the story takes place in the 60s, it's (unfortunately) very relevant to our world today. Co-produced w/Alan Jinich

Our event last month @DenverPressClub had a great turn out. We saw so many faces from our local journalism community.
Our next event is March 21, 6:30 p.m.

Tonight I'm celebrating that I have officially submitted the first draft of a podcast episode, the reporting for which I started back in 2021 ... Yes, 4 years ago.
I don't typically draw attention to late work, but this must be how it feels reaching the basecamp on Mt. Everest.
The podcast I was originally going to work with was unexpectedly canceled (RIP ๐ชฆ๐The Experiment).
When I found a new publication, my personal life hit a few milestones; I got a new job, had a baby and then I underwent some serious health shit.
Hi Twitter. My team at @StoryCorps is looking for a production intern. This is a paid position ($16 hr), is fully remote and offers real hands-on production work. Pitch stories, cut tape, record interviews. The sky's the limit.

What lessons did she learn from those four subsequent yearsโabout journalism, about communities, our country and our peopleโthat can help me meet this moment now.
Needless to say, I'm going to put those sweatpants back on, but I'm going keep thinking about this.
This was election night 2016. @GabrielJR and I were young reporters at the start of our careers in Columbus, OH. On the left we're at the start of the night; gussied up, ready to cover an election that seemed all but decided. On the right we are back at the station in our ...
sweats working late into the night to file our reporting. By the look on my face you can tell I have a lot on my mind.
Nothing was as it seemed.
Today I'm thinking a lot about that young reporter; who she was, what she was feeling?...
I'm looking for some remarkable #Y2k stories. Do you have a Y2K story you want to tell? Or maybe you know someone with an unbelievable story?
My DMs are open! @storycorps#journorequest#Y2K#stories#podcast
I found this story while eating bbq with my upstairs neighbor. The best stories come from the world around you.

Very proud to share this weeks @storyCorps piece. Growing up, Luis and Stephanie drove from Mexico to the US every morning to attend school.
They built their lives in two different countries.
Then one day their commute was no longer practical.
