According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said:
“Today is the last day of our stay in New York. We had several very busy days, in terms of the number of meetings that were held. We had numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings. The president, whom we accompanied, had an intensive schedule, and I also held many meetings alongside him, both before and after his engagements. We spoke with the media and held extensive discussions with think tanks and their representatives. We met with various countries, as well as officials from the United Nations and other international organizations, and all of these engagements pursued several objectives.
First, to ensure that the voice of the Iranian people's rights and grievances was heard by the world, to defend the interests of the Iranian people, and to demonstrate that Iran remains powerful and confident in the international arena. We encountered many countries that were interested in engaging in dialogue with Iran, and a very large number of our meetings were held at the request of the other side. It was evident throughout these meetings that the Islamic Republic, contrary to what the United States and the Israeli regime tried to portray, is by no means isolated. Rather, it is highly respected.
In numerous meetings, it was said that both the people and officials of those countries genuinely appreciate what Iran did and its resistance against what was portrayed as the world's largest military power. This resistance became a source of pride for many countries and many people.
Another objective we pursued, which is very important, was to communicate Iran's positions on the war, particularly regarding the Strait of Hormuz, to the international community. There are conditions set by the Leader, and these conditions must be fulfilled for the Strait of Hormuz to reopen. Our mission was to communicate these conditions both to the American side and to all other countries and the international community, so that they would know that Iran has a plan on this matter. Iran's conditions are entirely fair and logical, and if the Americans claim they are seeking an agreement or a peaceful solution, we should present them with that solution.
Our plan, which became known as the seven-point plan, was conveyed to the Americans through the Qatari mediator. Despite what the US president said, I stated that we are awaiting an official US response through the mediators. Today, one of the Qatari mediators met with us again. We held discussions and exchanged ideas on how to facilitate the fulfillment of Iran's conditions and how those conditions could be implemented. They had some ideas, and we discussed them. They are expected to raise the matter with the American side again, after which the US side's final response will be conveyed to us through the Qatari mediator. They hope this can be done by tomorrow.
I will be flying to Tehran in a few hours, and whenever the Qataris have a response, they know how they can convey it to us. These communications and messages exchanged between the Qatari and Pakistani mediators had already been taking place. Now, in light of the plan presented by Iran, they have taken on a more serious form. If there is a response, the Qataris will convey it, and a decision will then be made in Tehran based on that response.
We have seen media reports emerge over the past few hours making claims and attributing statements to Iran. I state categorically that there has been no change in Iran's positions. Our conditions for reopening the Strait are clear. Our position on other issues is also clear. At present, there has been absolutely no discussion of any flexibility. Our position is clear. At present, the only issue is the Strait of Hormuz. The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is contingent on the fulfillment of a number of conditions that we have communicated to the other side. I ask that no attention be paid to these speculations or deliberate attempts by some media outlets to shape the narrative.”
