“…when you look at them (African artistes), their music is not freeing Africa. Your music needs to free Africa.
If I’m all the way in Jamaica and my people fight to free your continent with WORD, SOUND and POWER, and you have the ability now, and all you’re singing is ‘that’?
You need to sing a song to free Africa now? You want the money? Go get it!
But what’s going to be said about you later on, and your posterity?”-Buju Banton
My heart goes out to Maama Dr. Miria Matembe who is being hunted down and our sister @SarahBireete who just got raided. May you still gather the courage to speak your truth during this difficult time.
They have built a throne for fear to reign among us and when they raid our homes and strip our dignity bare, they think they will undress our courage! We condemn every act of cruelty being unleashed on Uganda’s daughters, women and mothers.
To the sisters who have been beaten, raped, raided, left alone to fend for families while the breadwinners are abducted, kept in unknown detention and silenced. Be of courage! Injustice doesn’t reign forever! History will remember your wounds!
We convened as women of Uganda from across the 2Gs (geography and Generation) in solidarity with Hon Dr Miria Matembe’s safety and security, our call very clear!
@NinyeTabz thoughtful directive from the ghetto fountain of wisedom, tolinyayo Kati ako “katego” you don't need any approval for your torture ordeal from any sadist, your platform is enough.
You know how we do it.
I had a conversation with these wise men from Nation Media Group. How they deal with that conversation? They’re known for being at their best!
Over to you @Sudhirntv and your team!
Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and father-figures out there who show up and sacrifice unconditionally for the good of their families.
Fatherhood goes beyond just biology and providing. It is about nurturing character. It's about teaching humility, honour and respect for oneself and for others.
It's about raising children with values that will positively shape the society that their own children will inherit tomorrow.
As I grow older, I respect Mzee J. W. Ssentamu more, and yes, now I understand him even more. Happy Father’s Day.
Looking at what the regime did in Kalangala yesterday, Would anyone be wrong to assume that they killed Hon Nakimuli to forcefully take over that District, the same way they killed Ffeffeka to take over Kayunga?
They treat us as subhuman.
They kill our people for fun
They rape our sisters and brothers.
They torture us on camera.
They abduct us without remorse.
They tear families apart.
They drive people into exile.
They push others to commit suicide.
They rig elections with impunity.
They mock us and post humiliating images of our comrades in captivity.
Then they ask us “What will you do about it?”
But when we remind them, that they too are mortal, and that pain has a way of returning to its source, they suddenly remember the language of ‘morality’.
Go and preach that fake morality to Yasin Kawuma’s mother.
Preach it to the children of Johnbosco Kibalama., Eddy Mutwe or Waiswa Mufumbiro.
Preach it to the family of John Ddamulira and to the countless other victims of the Museveni family.
Don’t try to weaponize ‘morality’ to shield injustice and brutality.
It won’t work with this generation!
Yes, we believe in morality, but silence in the face of injustice is not morality. It is complicity, it is hypocrisy!
@NalukwagoJudith Those are just hypocrites, don’t pay them no mind. They even pretend not to have seen the attack on Hon Miriam Matembe. Their keyboards only work when it’s time to criticize those ‘crying badly’ while being unjustly crushed
Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows-Galatians 6:7.
Ever heard of karma? That is as a visitor that never forgets an address. What you have done to others does not disappear; it returns, in its own time and with precision.
You cannot torment, and even kill other men’s wives and expect to walk away scot-free.
God is always watching, and be sure that you will be paid in full, in your lifetime.
You have caused so much pain and suffering to others, but life has reminded you that NO TITLE, NO RANK, NO POWER can shield the people you love more than righteous deeds can.
Guys we need to understand something.
There’s no other choice in Uganda today
Either you risk abduction after having fought off the regime, or you get abducted for showing weakness towards this fragile and insecure regime.
The difference is, when you’ve been supporting the regime, no one will be there to speak for you, no one will wish you well, and no one will be willing to help you take care of your people. Family yo eba egenda kusilana. 🤷🏽♂️
Some people in my comments like to say that I speak from the comfort of the diaspora. It is true that it is safer ( And rightly so. Longevity of the struggle is the goal), but Museveni has his spies out here, and they’re watching, waiting to do harm at the first opportunity they get.
Mwebelelemu. Stand with the right cause. God, the people, and History will be on your side.

Very sad day! Yet again, a leader of the People Power Movement has been murdered by the Museveni regime. Police officers in a patrol vehicle saw comrade Rita Nabukenya donning our attire, drove after her and knocked her dead in broad daylight. We must end this regime of blood
