Polyorchis karafutoensis. A fist-sized (it’s big!) hydrozoan jellyfish from the Sea of Japan. It has tiny red eyes at the base of its tentacles, and it hunts fascinatingly - I'll tell about it later.

Not all jellyfish swim. There are stalked jellyfish whose dome develops a movable stalk with a suction cup on the end and whose tentacles have gathered into eight tufts on their arms. They are practically unable to hunt themselves, so they simply wait for their unlucky prey.
