What started initially as a protest continues to today as a fully-formed artistic community; one that happily uses its small self-made platform to shout about things that matter.
Long may it continue.
Showcasing Southend’s artists since 2013, the Estuary Fringe has been running a provocative and incendiary arts festival subverting the elitism within the art community, creating large-scale public artwork for the town, and generally being a nuisance.
[Our Story; a thread.]
Estuary Fringe proudly champions local artists and fights for additional funding for culture across the town, and we are proud of the work that we have achieved over the years.
The Estuary Fringe Festival returns for 2020.
Now with even less money.
Join us in July for yet another edition of the town's most lovably-dysfunctional arts festival.

Four years ago this month we created the @EstuaryFringe Pop-Up #Gallery space, converting two empty retail units into a cultural centre.
Glad to see that today both units are being used, and one is still a gallery space.

Nice to see good use is being made of our former space at the @thevictoriasc by @CulturalSembly
The new space will be a #Community#Culture#PopUp keeping fresh #ideas and #creative people at the centre of town.
We approve!
