Old Head Rap Twitter. Soul. Jazz. Beats. Breaks. Socialism. Liverpool FC. Creating drama when I’m on the scene, and I pack ‘em in mean, like Bruce Springsteen.
Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Bob Power, legendary Grammy nominated record producer, engineer and musician who passed away March 1. Bob was instrumental in crafting many Tommy Boy releases from Stetsasonic, De La Soul and throughout Hip-Hop, Soul and R&B. 🕊️
RIP Ka, rap's greatest minimalist, Brownsville's finest, inimitably dedicated himself to his city & craft. The master of quiet rage, writing zen koans with unremitting soul & passion. Pain, grief & wisdom in every bar. An artist as pure & real as anyone who ever spit cold facts.
@Reezyduzit247@GialloPoint We also started to add Mr Bongo to our list of spots more regularly, particularly when they opened on Lexington Street. Pretty sure I got a Percee P & Ekim 12” there on one occasion, which was a nice surprise.
Could argue over which of the first 2 albums is the best all day long.
But the best song - in my opinion - on any of these albums is on Death Certificate (“A Bird In The Hand”).
