@hankgreen I am under the impression that this is not necessarily a “right vs left” debate so much as it is an identity argument. AC is seen as “North American” compared to European norms. Europeans like hating on non-Europeans. Makes it fun to hate on AC, therefore…
@kaitybella I grew up in a small, conservative town where this stereotype would have been prevalent. It wasn’t. Soccer isn’t considered a girls sport in America, it’s just a sport that is introduced early and the variety of sports for boys grows faster, so fewer boys in soccer after ~age 8.
Bonnaroo was awesome and anyone who decides not to come back because of mud is just not meant to be there in the first place. I didn’t care enough about Geese to deal with the mud, but you bet your ass I waited for 5 hours in the worst of it to be front and center at Turnstile!

I mean, I’m all for putting things into perspective, but when it comes to global warming, zooming out a couple thousand years is not exactly reassuring.
It’s funny, motocross at the White House is, like, fine with me. But here’s an example of something that is genuinely unforgivable but that a lot of people seem to have moved right past.
“Oh Balogun is just playing for the U.S. because he couldn’t make the England squad”…Folks, that is the entire promise of our nation.
Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
And then we’ll beat your ass with them.
Boomer cultural dominance is so bad that you can watch your own son drop 45 to win the NBA Finals and immediately start talking about some guy from the 90s
@eastonfreeze Wild take-
You can have whatever hype/tilted take you want when you are a fan because fandom is by definition fanatic and not always enjoyed rationally.
If you, on the other hand, present yourself as a serious commentator, you open yourself up to this kind of critique.
