Today, whilst many celebrate Columbus Day, we celebrate Indigenous Resistance Day instead.

Despite their rights being recognised in the 1991 constitution, Indigenous peoples' fundamental demands for the protection of their land, culture, and lives remain unmet.

2/3 Many communities are threatened by forced displacement without basic protection of their livelihoods. This disruption affects traditional structures and leads to the loss of language, culture, and identity, ultimately threatening the survival of entire communities.
