Our seventh honoree is Mrs. Ledet Muleta, both a psychiatric nurse and a mental health advocate who aims to change the stigma surrounding mental health and its affect on women in the African Diaspora. Congratulations @muleta_ledet !

Our ninth and final honoree of the night is Colonel Deratu Tulu Gamechu, a globally praised athlete and role model to Ethiopians everywhere. She has had a positive influence on how Ethiopians are viewed around the world. Congratulations Colonel Deratu Tulu!

Our eighth honoree is Yetnebersh Negussie. A distinguished attorney, she is also the founder of the Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development. Her work has left a precedent for how disability should be treated. Congratulations Mrs. Negussie!

Our sixth honoree is Mrs. Helen Mesfin, adored TV personality on her talk show “The Helen Show”. Her show has served a platform that has been invaluable to the ethiopian community, empowering and informing the masses. Congratulations Helen!

Our fifth honoree is Professor Yalemtshay Mekonnen, the first woman full professor and gold medalist at Addis Ababa University. She has used her expertise in the natural sciences to mentor students around the globe. Congratulations!

Our fourth adult honoree is Artist Julie Mehretu, world-renowned artist and painter. She has brought aspects of the ethiopian culture to the forefront through her abstract art, and has always demonstrated love for her country. Congratulations @JulieMehretu!

Our third adult honoree tonight is Captain Amsale Gualu, the first female pilot to be named Captain in the history of the Ethiopian Airlines. Congratulations Captain Gualu!

Congratulations to student honoree Bezawit Gashe for winning the Aster Assefa Essay Scholarship! This years essays discussed ways that women can be integrated into more leadership roles within the ethiopian community.
