I agree the cheap-labor system (including foreign inflows) was real, profitable for capital, and systematically engineered through land dispossession, legal controls, and state power, and that is wrong. Exploitation is always bad.

I could also agree they were “bourgeois” but “liberal”, no. I don’t see how explicit race nationalism or identiterianism could fit under any system described as liberal.

I read JB Robinsons book on South Africa by recommendation. Loved it and shared with my Anglo-SA dad (Afrikaans mom wouldn’t be interested). I’d recommend reading Hendrik Verwoerd doctoral dissertation or the dozens of essays he wrote for a greater understanding of the original intent of the Apartheid system.
