We had a fantastic visit to @EtruriaMuseum yesterday. Such an incredibly preserved canal-side steam-powered mill. The only flint and bone mill we have ever visited.
Would recommend to anyone passing by Stoke on Trent. We will return when it is in steam!
Putting the 'bone' into bone china: this Wednesday our very own Bernard will be speaking about the lesser-known milling part of the pottery industry at #Barlaston W.I. - Barlaston Village Hall, #Staffordshire, 12:30 for 1pm.

Bravo to @GladstoneMuseum, host of the #greatpotterythrowdown! Anyone interested in the raw materials end of the pottery industry can visit our historic canalside bone and flint mill - we're open on Fridays, all very welcome. Shares appreciated! #StokeOnTrent
At our site: a ball mill made in #Katzhutte Germany, installed at Goodwin's Westwood Mill (Hanley) in 1904, for grinding raw materials for the pottery industry. Kindly donated to the museum by John Goodwin in 2000. #Potteries#StokeOnTrent#Staffordshire
Rope marks on a towpath wall, a reminder of the horse-drawn days ... one of many features pointed out during a recent tour of our historic site's environs for @StaffsChambers members, expertly led by Andy from @PotteriesHSoc. #canals#horses

Many thanks to PotBOOC members who assembled at Moorcroft for yesterday’s meeting. A great opportunity to reflect on our recent Concert in a Bottle Oven and review the Club’s progress over the past three years.
