@CourtneyRCronin Ben Johnson is putting a premium on his staff developing players. As Bear fans we've been burned too many times by former staffs. Last year's team did develop some. Both veterans (Booker) and rookies (Loveland, Burden, Monangai). Time will tell if it was a fluke or not
@ggabefootball From what I've read one reason they let some FA walk is they want to develop players. Are there any players that played out of position in college and have a skill set for a different position in the pros?
@ggabefootball It seems like Poles goes after role players in free agency and studs via draft (JJ, CW, Rome, Loveland). If FA/draft doesn't look good for the next year will make a trade. He has had some misses and a learning curve early on but for the most part it is working.
@ggabefootball Time will tell if it was a good deal or not. I hope he does well in Balt. I'm glad they didn't make it. Getting up there in age and shut down at the end of the season bc of his knees is a huge red flag for me.
@randysiplon@ggabefootball And who caught the balls? Rome and Burden are good and should continue to develop but they had a good number of drops on the routes that they were open.
@ggabefootball Which is why I don't think they'll go for any DE in the 1st. They may go DT but only if it's a NT. They have a couple 3tec on the roster. Dark horse pick is if a MLB stud that fits DA's system perfectly is there in the 1st they'll grab him.
