So many great things happened at the @BritSocGasto #BSGLIVE25 conference in Glasgow this week. But the main highlight for @Gut_BMJ was our Editor in chief Professor Emad El-Omar @emadelomar receiving his "BSG Lifetime Achievement Award" from the @BritSocGastro President Professor Colin Rees @BottProf. Such a richly deserved award and an acknowledgement of how much Emad means to so many of us. He is not only a great scientist, clinician, leader and mentor but a fantastic person, leader and human being. A father figure to many.
Professor El-Omar steps down in December from the role of EIC of @Gut_BMJ and will be hugely missed, but we will always be grateful for everything Emad has done for #TeamGUT for the last 16 years. He is a true legend!
