[RELIEVE] 📢 EHMA launches a new Call to Action to establish a European vaccination coverage target for pneumococcal disease in adults.

Despite being vaccine-preventable, pneumococcal disease continues to place a significant burden on health systems across Europe, especially among adults aged 65 and over. With an ageing population and growing health system pressures, adult vaccination must become a greater public health priority.

EHMA, in collaboration with a wide network of endorsing partners, is calling on European policymakers to set a 75% pneumococcal vaccination coverage target for adults aged 65+. This target will help drive coordinated action, reduce disease burden, and strengthen prevention strategies across Member States.

This initiative builds on the work of the RELIEVE 2025 project and reflects extensive stakeholder consultation and engagement.
