Non-disabled people don’t understand how expensive it is to be disabled. The government doesn’t give us everything for free. Medications, hundreds of dollars. Mobility aids could be tens of thousands. Medical equipment, hundreds of thousands. That’s just the necessary stuff.
@spoonfulofhan It’s amazing how angry anonymous people are on X that you’re disabled. At if I chose to be born with painful diseases that cause me to hurt when I walk, stand, sit, move, stand up, lie down or even when I urinate. That’s my life. It sucks.
I had to go back to see Obsession again in theaters before it was too late…
I was worried that a second viewing wouldn’t take me on the same emotional rollercoaster and thrill that the first viewing did… I was so wrong.
The same uncomfortable, tense fear and whiplash of emotions was just as strong the second go-around.
My favorite part was watching everyone come out of the theaters with their hands over their chest, every single person was actively discussing the movie, one dude even had water all over his shirt from getting jump scared. I witnessed several people take body screenshots from scares throughout the movie.
I picked up on more depth and so many more Easter eggs. The acting is so spot on, the character development especially of Bear and Nikki were remarkable. The tasteful use of satire throughout the whole movie was such a unique touch that could’ve gone so wrong but actually brings the whole movie together and helps it stand out even more. But MAN, the sound design has to be my favorite, music choice, all of it. It really immerses you.
This movie is so incredibly good, it may even get a third watch in theaters from me before it moves to streaming services. If you haven’t seen it, GO SEE IT.
Also… is it the cat? What do we think? 😂
cap: Obsession's Nikki stars Inde Navarrette and Michael Johnston say having a young director and crew was beneficial to the new horror movie #Obsessionmovie
A 26-year-old taught the entire Hollywood who is spending money like water that you don't need millions of dollars for a super hit movie. All you need is a team of a director and actors who genuinely prioritize passion over money most.
Curry Barker, a 26-year-old filmmaker and YouTube sketch comedian, didn't wait around for Hollywood's permission.
When Producer James Harris initially reached out to Barker to adapt one of his YouTube horror shorts (The Chair).
Barker boldly pitched an entirely different, original idea a twisted psychological thriller called Obsession.
The role of Nikki required someone who could instantly flip from a normal, lovable friend to a terrifying, unstable, and violent stalker. Navarrette was locked in at the eleventh hour, delivering a breakthrough performance that critics are calling masterfully unhinged.
Traditional Hollywood studios often avoid taking pure creative risks on horror because they treat the genre like a formula.
Unlike typical horror movies that rely on ghosts in the walls, Obsession taps into a deeply relatable, real-world nightmare.
And now the movie whose total production cost is $750k has now crossed over $224 million world wide.

Obsession (2026)
What makes the scene so unsettling is that it’s the first time Bear questions the fantasy version of Nikki created by the wish. The moment he doubts her story, her behavior unravels — and many viewers see it as the point where the film shifts into full psychological horror.
Here is quite a long interview with the lady who played the waitress in the opening of OBSESSION
She is a dear friend of the writer/ director and was an afterthought, after the first screening of the movie. It's actually quite interesting if you're a fan!
