Weekend brunch: not just a meal, but a moment of self-care. 💛 Nourishing our bodies and minds is an act of kindness to ourselves. Here’s to enjoying food without guilt and embracing the joy in each bite! #SelfCare#MindfulEating#EatingDisorders
It's #eatingdisordersawarenessweek. Latest figures from NHS Digital indicate around ONE PERCENT of adults in the UK who need treatment currently access it.
Where is the campaign saying "anyone can get an eating disorder, but 99% of adults can't get specialist help?"
#edaw2025
I'm not engaging much with eating disorders awareness week this year.
The way I want to raise awareness is to raise the alarms, raise a storm, raise a riot of public outrage about the immense injustices that silently ruin lives.
✨#HappyNewYear from snowy Norway!✨
I’ve been grateful to spend the holidays with family, but I know this time of year can be especially difficult for those affected by #EatingDisorders. In 2025, let’s work towards better treatments, greater understanding, and renewed hope. 💙
Why should we explore biological treatments for #EatingDisorders? This article written by my brilliant #Research Assistant Ella for the @Bfoundation explains why they're a missing part of the puzzle in addressing these complex illnesses.

Had a chat with someone recently about this. Their son, who has chronic pain following a head injury, was diagnosed with SWJ. They were told he had a type of brain energy deficit…

We are currently investigating the effects of #ZINC on symptoms of #AnorexiaNervosa (including atypical & in partial remission). If you or a loved one is interested in participating in our Melbourne-based #ClinicalTrial, please get in touch with us at [email protected]. @MonashUni
The second time in 2 weeks that zinc has come up. Funnily enough, it was one of the first things I read about when AN struck and I was looking for answers. Think Zinc: Micronutrient Supplementation for the Treatment of Anorexia Nervosa https://t.co/I9NiANKSq7
@AgnesAyton@AnorexiaMyths Hi Agnes. Our team does lots of work w/ hormones in treating various psychiatric conditions w/ promising results. That said, I'm particularly interested to know more about your study on hormones & AN - could you link me to the study, or give me more info if unpublished? Thanks!
I’m proud of this paper out today on the role of harm reduction in longstanding anorexia. All reads, comments and shares most welcome! https://t.co/EBAcirilZl
Researchers from @MonashUni Li-THRED are testing potential medication treatments for anorexia nervosa (AN). If you're located in VIC & currently experiencing AN, find out if you're eligible by filling out the EOI below or email [email protected] ⤵️

This is why our current hormone & medication trials include atypical #anorexia & those with AN who have managed to weight restore. BMI is not a good indicator of severity which I'm reminded of every single day seeing incredibly unwell people who are technically a "healthy weight"
In a residential sample of n = 1810, patients with atypical AN endorsed more severe eating disorder and emotional symptoms than patients with AN-R (no diff between atyp AN and AN-BP). The higher BMI of individuals with atypical AN accounted for these differences.
I’m sure when my daughter was ill she felt that her ED was a huge part of her identity and she didn’t know who she’d be without it. This is so common.
But I can tell you: the fact that she had an ED is probably the least interesting thing about her.
