.@Pita_MFP: We want to create a new government as quickly as possible in order to avoid a political vacuum. (…) I’m not concerned about the (appointed) Senators, it doesn’t make sense for them to stand against the people’s will. #ThaiElection23
From @prachatai. No less than epoch-making and an earthquake in modern Thai political history. Only a few weeks ago, elites from the traditional conservative parties were smirkingly laughing at the new Move Forward Party & agency of Thai youth. #ThaiElection2023
According to EC 97% ballots counted (38.5 million votes) - Move Forward wins the election at 113 constituency seats, 13.4 millions party-list votes. Pheu Thai came second at 112 constituency seats, 10.3 millions party-list votes.
This election reveals a remarkable shift in Thai public opinion. A young party with a radical agenda - including reform of the lese majeste law - looks set to win more votes, and perhaps more seats, than any other. Move Forward captured the imagination of voters of all ages.

#ThaiElection23: My final thoughts before we wrap tonight is a deja vu of last year’s resounding victory of Bangkok Gov @chadchart_trip. It was a rejection of the political status quo.
Today we’re seeing the same with @MFPThailand kinds robbing @PheuThaiParty’s landslide. (Cont)
