I think when things like this happen prosecutors should make a point of seeking significant jail time and making the defendants famous. A LOT of sports fans need to internalize the message that you NEVER assault someone for rooting for another team.
It's the phones.
It's the phones for a hundred reasons. Here are a few:
1) Male consumption of porn reduces marriage (for like 10 reasons)
2) Because of time-wasting college kids and 20-somethings just socialize less, reducing marriage.
3) The dating apps ruin dating (for 10 reasons)
4) Social media gives us a false anthropology, which makes us too individualistic and too averse to connection and commitment.
5) The phones make us sad and make us hate ourselves. If we hate ourselves we don't want more of us.
We have to stop tossing stars and coaches in postseason play. Tre Phelps and Wes Johnson tossed on this homer. Ejections all over the place this weekend.
Every day umpires look in the mirror and say “how can I make today about me”
@CFB_Pat Umpires do an amazing job overall, and yes, they get calls wrong. Constantly over-analyzing bad calls and complaining about umps is loser behavior
@TJ_Padro If a player fails to understand that it is not, in fact, all about them, they are letting their team down. And as an aside, the “look at me” culture just sucks.
@katrosenfield Power is obviously hard to quantify; it at least seems like those folks have less power now? Certainly they have enough to scare some politicians / candidates.
But maybe not as much as before?
@TPCarney There’s no words to make this feel anything other than deeply bittersweet. It’s a very finite portion of their lives, and it’s awesome (as long as the coaches have the right approach). Congrats on being part of an important time in their development. Beautiful stuff.
