Restorative justice!
Where bullies can get away with anything, all behavioral expectations are problematized, good kids lose out on an education, fence sitters follow the crowd, and once good schools descend into chaos.
Hooray education fads! Very learning, much engaging!
Addiction to cortisol can look like:
- chronic patterns of high level conflict in relationships
- never being able to sit still (always going)
- over scheduling yourself
- finding yourself in 'drama' regularly
- lack of boundaries
It just happens that in the real world, for some reason, far more likely linked to human behaviour than physics, masks and respirators as worn in the community are largely ineffective at reducing viral transmission.

At this stage, there is no robust evidence for face masks reducing transmission of respiratory viruses in the community of the type we do have for the effectiveness of seatbelts, crash helmets or smoking cessation.

MASK MANDATES: Good summary
@LizHighleyman/@Slate Cochrane review. Bottom line: Maybe work at individual level, doesn't meet level of evidence at population level (need more studies) to mandate even in healthcare: "maybe let people decide for themselves"

Claiming RCTs of masks are invalid because people don’t wear them properly is utterly upside down
This isn’t what invalidates RCTs - it’s what invalidates the lab studies
If your intervention falls apart when subjected to its end user, that’s what counts
Not mannequins
"The CDC found 45 pct of high school students were so persistently sad or hopeless in 2021 they were unable to engage in regular activities. Almost 1 in 5 seriously considered suicide and 9 pct surveyed tried to take their lives during previous 12 months."

@redditships This is an interesting example of how people react to the concept of emotional labor. The relationship is good and works, but social conditioning says it's somehow an insult to frame relational compatibility as a result of conscious effort rather than magic warm fuzzies.
Imagine being so salty about getting eliminated from a competition show that you chose to use your exit interviews to bash other women’s” intelligence and looks. I can’t relate. I’d explain my thought process during my exit interviews, but I don’t have any scheduled this early🥱
🧵Fields medalist June Huh shares an early math experience: a chess puzzle in the game "The 11th Hour." Story and figures from https://t.co/XhijJjwbJ3.
Can you swap the positions of the black and white knights? Seems hard, right? A new perspective makes it almost trivial! 1/n
Two weeks into my industry job. Biggest surprise - how easy scheduling meetings is. People check your calendar and book time. You decline or propose a new time if necessary. No doodles. No endless email chains. No back and forth. It’s amazing.
Getting diagnosed with ADHD as an adult feels like being told you suck at Mario Kart your whole life and then finding out your game generates 40 times more banana peels than it's supposed to
Watching HvHvH for the first time
(been putting it off for obvious reasons... *cough* *cough* ... Ben)
HOWEVER y'all were right about this girl. She ate this whole season UP.
