An essayist who dabbles in paint and pencil, and an artist who flexs his thoughts in words. And for whom Hong Kong is home, his roots and his community.

@sebastianveghk @ECFRParis Interesting to see a slight upturn these few months in how people view the future of HK. I wonder if this is both a reflection of how suppressed people had become post-2014, and especially under CL; and the way people have found hope in seeing people standing up in such numbers.
After a long absence, hello again twitter. This piece in Ming Pao is very welcome. The dishonesty of our national govt fuels protest, and makes divisions so deep.
What began as an exercise to debunking certain historic "truths" evolved into this wonderful, and politically less sensitive, piece. Hope this begins a long overdue discussion on Chinese history and it's politicisation post-89.

@JasonSCFung My wife and I will be leaving to have a family in the UK. I don't want my children to share my pain. But I leave only as an exile: my heart and thoughts, and my efforts will continue to with HK. And I will return regularly.

The HKJA said it understood that HK01 planned two days of coverage, but Thursday’s coverage was pulled.

Was recently greeted by an acquaintance. "You hate Hong Kong? When you going back to UK?" As he knows, I was born in HK. Yet I'm always going "back" to the UK. Sign of the times.
