@bondbryanBIM @Solibri I've stopped tracking them (so I may miss some), but there are a few tools developing IDS editing functionalities:

@bondbryanBIM Great one. I would add the location attr. to the classification reference. It's key to universally refer to an object (already) defined in a data dictionary - via uri
@ifcdoctor Fair point, I'd invert subject: different viewers interprete the same (sometimes crappy) geometry in different ways. That said, how can we assess the "correct" geometry? How do we know which viewer applied the "right" correction? Would you certify viewers' fixing capabilities?

@bondbryanBIM @for59j54@airtable Genuine question: is there a specific reason not for asking occurrences to be IfcUnitaryEquipment? It's not the first time I see this. I'm trying to understand the history behind this use of IFC: mapping an occurrence to an entity & typing it pointing to a subtype of such entity
@a_shilliday@liccle_em@for59j54@Solibri@msuchocki@DaluxAps well...actually there is. https://t.co/wRk5UHL6yz uses IFC to define standard, re-usable set of rules to specify and automatically check data in BIM models. Doesn't solve the different SW interpretation though
(don't have yet a rule for location/georef, but input are v. welcome)
@EnricoCannas IFC is a data model that specify how to structure data. It's conceived for machines to communicate and exchange info (open an IFC file to see it's not made for humans π) Omniclass, Uniclass...are just classification systems. P.S. IFC can use classifications, its schema tells how
