Too complicated to address here but he said Musk will need abt 7-8m ppl paying $8 and around $3B in fees from a "payments" service to free it from advertisers & pay the debt. Tall order IMO.

@bjornsing @wesblog @Palle_Hoffstein As a former IBM exec I can attest to this. We consistenly paid staff in Europe less which is one reason IBM has continued to expand there since WW2. If you have the same quality of talent but can pay them less, every company on Earth will take that deal.

@levinepmc She's partially correct. They give up 50% of their ForEx reserves- not exports- to the FT. FT holds, pays interest on it, and prints the CFA. CFA is pegged to the Euro. Pro here is currency stability. Con here is the nations that use the CFA do not have monetary sovereignty.
