The goal is NOT to be the best player at 16.

The goal is to become the best player you can be at 20, 22, 25... when your body, mind, and game are truly coming together.

Play other sports.
Compete often.
Train with purpose.
Embrace adversity.
Become a great teammate.
Become an even better person.

I've seen plenty of players peak early.

The ones who never stop developing are usually the ones we're still talking about years later.

Skip Johnson has talked a lot about "the dugout" throughout Oklahoma's run, the other guys who haven't seen the field as much as they did during the regular season still supporting their teammates

I asked Skip about that today:

"It's uncommon at every level. I mean, from Little League all the way up. When their kid's not playing, all they hear is the negative energy. These guys really have been selfless."

"Man, if you can teach those young men to be selfless in a selfish world, is really big to me. It's really big to me. When nobody cares who gets the credit, you can do amazing things. It's pretty amazing."

As our playoff run came to an end, I want to take a moment to thank the entire Agoura community.

To our students, parents, alumni, teachers, administrators, youth players, and fans—thank you for showing up for these young men. The energy, support, and pride you brought to every playoff game meant more than you'll ever know.

High school sports are about so much more than wins and losses. They're about community. They're about creating memories that last a lifetime. Watching our stands fill up, hearing the crowd behind us, and seeing Agoura come together to support these players was something truly special.

These boys poured their hearts and souls into this season. They worked, competed, battled adversity, and represented Agoura with class. To see them rewarded with the support they received throughout this playoff run was incredibly meaningful.

On behalf of our players and coaching staff, thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and making this season one we'll never forget.

The future of Agoura Baseball is bright, and we're just getting started.
