@TheOverlordDio Never read any of the side stories about her or any of the EX novels, but I think I got her gist pretty easily. I also agree that she just didn't fit being a villain beyond side stories and character backstories, feels like Tappei wanted to do it solely to foreshadow other stuff
@ybaBeulB2023 It won't be seen nearly as bad as the novels because an episode a week for 13 weeks (or even less) is much easier to stomach "losing" than a full year of novel content with long breaks every few months breaking the flow
@AsarathaHS Every named episode up until now shows us the character's backstory and how they changed, but Regulus does not get that, and I think that's telling about his character. But fans have this thing where cut content = bad so even if cutting it adds meaning it's seen as a bad decision
@AsarathaHS I still believe that not including Regulus' backstory is perfectly fine and is actually a thematically rich creative decision playing into the nature of what a "named episode" represents so far in the anime lol
They did remove his hype moments and aura tho lmao
@samuelfeckwit@no_earthquake I’ve seen Kane say in interviews that he just isn’t a fan of the idea that the Backrooms can simply change layout while you’re not looking.
Basically ruins the idea that you could reasonably remember the path to escape, but your brain freaks out with how wonky it all is iirc
Also sad that this may be the most relevant Petra may ever be in the series cause I really liked her character and I kinda don't see where Tappei could take her character growth from here
Wasn't a fan of the ending but I always believed that whether or not the Arc would be considered good depends entirely on how future Arcs use the themes and ideas introduced here
Arc 10 seems to be following this perfectly, so I do think this one will be looked back on fondly
@dank3christ@heyimposh Some of these will simply be side story only stuff, prob stuff like Zarestia, Gusteko, and Kararagi.
In fact, all of the Zarestia stuff is happening in the Anastasia side stories right now, and I kinda don't expect it to be relevant to the main story beyond a few brief mentions
Also Volume 31 is in contention for my favorite novel in the series and is imo the only part of the series that I think would genuinely work and be successful if adapted as a movie shown in theaters (sorry y'all, the IFs just wouldn't make for good movies in theaters lmao)
Even though I didn't read any of the side content, I absolutely loved the Arc when I read it
It is the Arc that I'd say is basically required to be binged, as any long breaks kinda ruins the flow. I'd hate to have to wait days between each chapter, it just isn't built for that
