My insurance claim got rejected and I’m feeling really overwhelmed, so I’m going to sign off for a while. I’m really pleased with how well 5k every day went and appreciate everyone’s support so much.
If anyone sees my bike can you reach out to @MrCallumDouglas please? Stay safe.
Have just come back to my flat in Leith to find my bike, which I saved up for for years and use to deliver meals for @EmptyKitchens has been stolen. I'm absolutely devastated. If you see it please let me know. @LeithCycleCo if anyone comes in you fitted these amazing mudguards
I can’t believe it’s finished. 30 days of running 5k every day. Turns out it’s a long way! Thank you so much for your support everyone, the money raised for @EmptyKitchens stands at £1,660. It’s incredible, and I’m grateful from my head to the tips of my toes.
FINISH LINE: @LeithTheatre, our fantastic and supportive current hosts. From here we’ve sent out over 250,000 meals! Thanks to all our other supporters and @Every5k for her incredible efforts.
Ok. 4,3,2,1 - Last Day! Today is all about @EmptyKitchens and the incredible work they do for the Edinburgh community. 145k down and one final 5k to go this evening. Thank you @EmptyKitchens for everything you do, and thank you to everyone who has been so supportive. 1/2
@shonaverity1 @EmptyKitchens@edinburghpaper Thank you Shona, that’s very kind. If possible I’d rather you use your platform to spread the news about the work @EmptyKitchens are doing. I’ve had such wonderful offers here and hopefully the bike will be found or insurance will come through.
I really hope my bike is found, but if not I have some wonderful people waiting in the wings to help however they can, and I want to say thank you. You’ve been incredible sharing this far and wide and offering to help, and I couldn’t be more grateful. 2/2
Yesterday was a whirlwind of feeling really upset, to being overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers. I’m not an active Twitter user, and I’m amazed and so grateful for how quickly a community can come together for someone who is struggling. #edinburgh 1/2
@Bikes4Refugees@EmptyKitchens@LeithCycleCo Wow, that’s so good of you to offer. And thank you for all you are doing, it’s really brilliant. I’ll get in contact with your shortly once I see how long insurance takes etc. Thank you so much.
@Badgeraz Weirdly the railings are all still in tact. Nothing left but a bike seat that wasn’t mine. But yes, I think I’ll carry the next one up the stairs.
@BikeTraxEdin@EmptyKitchens I’m really sorry you got robbed. I hope you are managing okay. That’s a really generous offer, and I’ll be in touch if I need your help. Just going to wait and see how insurance claiming goes. Thank you for being great.
@HalOsler @EmptyKitchens@LeithCycleCo That’s really kind thank you. I’m not sure how long insurance takes but I will certainly remember this post if I’m stuck
@LeghornFh @EmptyKitchens I will let you know how I get on with insurance, I have high hopes they will be able to sort me out with a new bike. I have everything crossed! Thank you for your kindness.
