So, theoretically we will be releasing and recording episodes again soon. But for now, I’d just like to say a very hearty #AbolishICE on behalf of our podcast where we believe in the Constitution and support immigrants and all our neighbors.
Since it’s storm season in Wisconsin I have the urge to rewatch “Twister”, and while I’m at it I’ll share my podcast’s episode on “Twister” where we talk bts on the movie and also dole out tornado safety tips! https://t.co/Yybh2BLuZE
It cannot be underestimated how much of the appeal of “Heated Rivalry” is simply because it’s well-made romance that is constructed with the same care as any dramatic program, not just churned out like disposable “content.”
#HeatedRivalry is the best romantic new release I’ve seen in some time. It gets a lot of attention for being hot, which it is, but it’s also deeply emotional. Episode 5 made me cry beautiful tears. I can’t wait to see what’s next from all involved!
@torturedfilm I cannot stand how impatient this movie was to change scenes, change songs. Nothing resonates because Netflix is scared of being too slow which might mean you’ll stop watching. But ironically by not allowing time for relationships to develop, that becomes boring.
@torturedfilm The 2000s are one of the worst eras for rom coms, though. The 80s-90s had great scripts, lots of feminism, and lingered in scenes. The 30s-40s had great screwball romances with strong women. The 2010s were experimental. This was just the pale knockoff version of like 27 Dresses.
@shivlestat It was badly written. I think good writers could have made a good feature but instead four people were probably asked to tweak this for some algorithm, thereby draining it of all its sauce.
I really needed #PeopleWeMeetOnVacation to be good amidst all this fascism. But sadly it seems to have been adapted via algorithm for people with no attention spans. Hey @netflix the audience for this can *read.* Maybe let scenes breathe so half the movie doesn’t feel like an ad.
@HorrorLovesBeth How many giallo movies and Italian horror movies have you seen? Seven Notes in Black, The Antichrist, All the Colors of the Dark, The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh, etc.
@blue_rookery@genxjenh@mikemovies With all due respect, I think I’m pretty good on sociology too. And not all romantic comedies depict hetero romances anyway!
@riversersh Let’s just do an eventual White Lotus crossover where their actual characters from Challengers end up at the resort 10 years later or something.
