I made most of my success on Roblox through game acquisitions. I acquired and ran most of big wins that people talk about when you think of acquisitions.

Here is my advice for developers if they are thinking of selling, or being approached by 10,000 different people asking to "buy" your game.

YOU DONT HAVE TO SELL

NEVER sign a contract with an option, right of first refusal or clauses to buy more of your game at a later date

NEVER SELL MAJORITY

THERE ARENT ANY SECRETS, most of these guys promise that they will help your game, like they are some secret keyholder to the algorithm... most of the people can't or won't help with your game.

The business model is the following: buy a game, and wait for the algorithm to pick it up. If the algo picks it up, put a team on it.

People offer big $$$ when they know your game is going to blow up, so if you are getting offers for millions of dollars, remember that your game is likely to earn that over its lifetime!

There are a few times I suggest selling, if they are the right team, and are providing real value. For example, doing live ops, or only buying a small minority % so you can derisk incase the project performs badly.

You can do it yourself and you will learn more in the process. So remember that!

Hi, I'm amro_jkl — a Roblox developer. I recently turned 18, and I built a game called +1 Squish a Dumpling Escape that grew to 50,000 concurrent players. I want to share what's been done to me, because it's still happening.

It started when two people, "li" and "moha," hacked me.

I joined their discord activity which then downloaded a microsoft edge extension that ratted my pc, afterwards They got into my game and broadcast vile illegal content to all 50,000 players under MY name — deliberately, to get my game banned and my account terminated.

It worked. My game was taken down. My Roblox account was terminated. My Discord was hacked and disabled. I lost everything I'd built, overnight.

I fought and slowly clawed my account back — only to discover they'd already reuploaded my game on an account called "royal rife," renamed their 90M-visit game to match mine to fake the timeline, and then DMCA'd my ORIGINAL game off the platform.

Then it got personal. NSFW images sent to my email, forwarded to my friends and my family. My Twitter banned too.

I am the original creator of +1 Squish a Dumpling Escape. I have every log, every timestamp, every archive. I'm 18 years old and I'm not letting people who did this walk away clean.

Roblox has now LOCKED TWO of my groups with MILLIONS of Robux. It's now all gone.

We were providing real work & service to Roblox developers in exchange for Robux through gamepasses. Everything abided Roblox TOS!
