What is the goal of these robocalls? Below is just one of hundreds of screenshots I could show of missed “potential spam” calls every day.
Obviously they’re automated, so it’s virtually effortless for the “caller,” but why persist?
If there’s no answer by the callee and no callback from the callee, why keep doing it. I mean for months and months? Thinking they’ll break us down and we’ll finally call them back and sign up to their scam, in hopes it will stop the calls?
If that’s the case, it should be in the pitch: “Good evening. This is Charles calling about your spam calling stoppage fee. Act now to have us stop calling you. Operators are standing by to discuss spam call stoppage rates. Call today!”
If anyone has any real insight, make a comment. I’m genuinely curious.

They don't care who they're calling, they bought an enormous list of phone numbers from some databroker or other scam agency. They have little reason to track 'good' phone numbers as all it does is increase costs.
While the success rate is infinitesimal, it's still more than sufficient to be profitable as the cost to make the calls is well below infinitesimal while the victims lose large sums of money.
