@ZelaznyShannon Is it possible to reach you via email (mine is in my bio) or something along these lines? I wanted to ask for a permission to make more tham vague references to one of Roger Zelazny's stories in a game I am working on.
So this little puzzle game I've been working for a while called Trans Neuronica? It leaves Early Access in two days!
I am so excited for this my organism decided it's the best time to catch a cold so... Wishlist and buy to help me heal?
Get it on Steam: https://t.co/zBsufFOGjZ
@RozenDJ Thanks! I had the hunch this might be the case by looking things up in Music Brainz but it still used my brain as a free real estate.
I love Dungeons & Dodongos and Shadows of Hyrule, thanks for making awesome music!
@RozenDJ Strange question, but I am trying to make sense of things - is it just YT Music combining you with a Polish group of the same name, or are you secretly also a Polish band?
@WStrangeMusic Just wanted to say I discovered your SotN arrangements a while back and fell in love with them, and both those and Dungeons and Dodongos are in my "Writing" playlist. And I often just listen to them when I feel like it. Great stuff.
@ElectronDance make sure you avoid Void Stranger by @System_erasure because it's an amazing puzzle game that took over my life and I don't want to play anything else until I uncover all of its secrets
@KOOPMode thanks for making Goodbye Volcano High, I loved every second of it. The last time I felt this connection with the story in a video game was probably Night in the Woods and I wasn't sure I'd ever get to experience that again.
Also I only now noticed this weird visual bug during the blink's fade out, curious!
(And I knew about state machines before, I just somehow was not using them and let me tell you I was making things difficult for myself)
Now that there is level selection in Trans Neuronica it's time for some kind of level unlocking effect. I am glad I rediscovered state machines, they make everything simpler!

2/ And by time I mean - yes, that's exactly what's going on here. I feel like even if I ultimately don't want to make the main game have branching levels, it's going to be a cool addition for custom levelsets. Also the linear editor I had earlier was super unwieldy.
1/ While the map rendering is almost done now, I still need some kind of usable map editor for the first update of #TransNeuronica
Am I hinting branching paths here...? Only time will tell!
https://t.co/zBsufFOGjZ Wishlist now!

1/ As I am continuing work on Level Selection, one thing I realized is how sometimes less is more. On the left there are the tutorial-level icons that animate in the same direction and speed. On the right the animation is randomized. #gamedev#PuzzleGame#gamedesign
3/ I am staring at these two and trying to understand why, though. Is it because of the neat grid that's used inside the icon, that itself is a pattern and the pattern of animation complements it? Or maybe it's visually busy and the order relieves it a little?
3/3 Map will be customizable in the editor when that ships, but for now I am just trying to home on a design that feels fitting. Quite possible whatever gets released in the first update will evolve and improve by the time the full game is out.
Hard at work making a level selector screen for #TransNeuronica. It's still work in progress as the background is a bit too blank and it would be nice to have a name for each module cluster.
Read on for level selector trivia!

2/3 EA feedback! With 60 levels to click through it's tiring if you want to check something from the early game later. Some people also like the option to just, you know, take a look at the whole thing they worked.
