@Jeppebj @aramisx I never said they were bigger. But Square Enix has absolutley branded the show with FFXIV. It's one of the show's biggest sponsors FOR YEARS. No doubt they blocked WOW from being nominated for anything and forced FFXIV into nominations.

Companies that are doing well have layoffs two years in a row, right? Right?!

@SkywardWing The layoffs arent about AI replacement. FF16, FF7R and now FFXIV are MASSIVE failures. This is undeniable. Really, these layoffs are a response to Square being unable to keep its only-known franchise alive. They didnt get the memo its dead, yet still poured millions into it.

@Wario64 I genuinely tried to help every Square employee I ran into on twitter. I told them straight up to get their resumes ready...that they would be laid off. Did they believe me? No they didnt.
I GENUINELY tried to help them. Anyone with eyes can see Square is a sinking ship.

@MikeOdysseyYT That is flawed logic. But even so, the DS primarily shared its time in the sun with the Wii, not Gamecube. DS lived from 2004-2011. Only 2 of those years were with the Gamecube.

@OsbergJamie @maximilian_ Ben Starr is the connecting string between E33 and FF. To not make that connection is a clear indication Square doesnt actually know the game. They identified its popular, is better than any FF in the past 15 years, and was a financial success. Theyre just trying to seem cool.
