I tried making spaghetti and meatballs from scratch. The meatballs were very good, but the pasta was... different. So, I made pastaballs and meatballs. Perhaps this is a gastronomical curiosity best left up to the pros.

Give your charaters names - if only temporarily. Make it a name that reminds you of a specific emotion, so that way, you assign real value to them. They can only leap off the pages, if they can stir the soul.

If your novel isn't one of romance, then stop romanticizing it. Stop dreaming of it. Stop wishing of it. Stop deconstructing stories that haven't even become complete thoughts. Editing is a process best used AFTER your draft.

I can find my keys, flip-flops, remote control, & fridge door in the dark. Yet, I can't find the damned light switch in the dark. It's made my other senses better. Soon, I'll be able to commune with the dolphins from my toilet.

Reading my own novel aloud to myself, gives me a sense of wonder and accomplishment. It feels like all the effort that was made to arrive to this point, is rolled up into a ball of comfort food, to be eaten in one bite that lasts for hours.
