This is not the first time, Lindor before him loved to make the bunt call, and was given the discretion. I think it is on the manager to communicate circumstances where the discretion does not exist.

Great work by @ZackMeisel. I think you have to question if this removes culpability, at this point for Gimenez to bunt, is it clear that it is against Tito’s directive? If the player simply has discretion, I’m not sure that is much better than Tito calling it.

Amed Rosario went back to Cleveland yesterday to get an MRI on his back, which came back fine. They're unsure if he'll be available today or tomorrow (sounds doubtful) and the hope is he'll be ready to return to the lineup Friday. Tyler Freeman's here in the meantime.
