How funny i met an Argentinian bloke the other day in a bar in Bournemouth, we started talking and he asked me after I told him I had been in the Navy for 25 years if I had fought in the Falklands war!, No my friend I said I did not, however I was on a large exercise called Springtrain in Gibraltar when the fleet set sail, I went down there with them to send across all our weapons/bombs etc as I was on an anti-submarine frigate mostly geared up to fighting "Ivan" at the time "Andropoff and his gang", he said oh so you never suffered the damage we caused to your ships!, "Fuck me" 2 pints more I would have knocked the twat out!.... however I replied with what I swear on my grand childrens life is a true true story. We went down with the fleet as stated, and lingered around Ascention for a few days (By the way I was on the Euryalus, so my ex oppos will know this is true)!...... that was the very night an Argie exocet hit the Sheffield that we turned back, unbeknown at the time this had happened. Well all our Dhoybeing(Laundry to land lubbers), that we put in that morning all come back delivered creased to fuck!. Well the 1st Lieutenant got to hear about it following complaints. He in turn got in touch with the "Laundry Officer" (What a high powered role!), and this was a young Lt Engineer!....... he heard of the issue and went aft to see the chineese laundry men and asked them what the matter was, and why was not the laundry ironed???............. It appears they had all 8 watertight clips leading to the laundry fully home, however he managed to gain access, he said to MR Ling NO1 Dhobey waller, why is all the laundry washed but not pressed etc........MR Ling replied in an agitated state..." Me listen radio 2 !!!!!!! Warship hit wiv heat seeking missile!!......me no wanna be dead!...me turn off Irons, no heat HA HA!!, me help fuck up dago waps! they no sink our ship!.........I swear this is true and it was a brilliant dit to tell many year later like now!
